Midnight High is a dream pop band based out of Seattle, WA. Blending elements of 80’s synthpop, alt-pop, and indie rock with strong lead vocals, lush harmonies, and modern production, Midnight High embodies a sound that is both contemporary and deeply nostalgic.
The band formed in 2020 when Nik Singleton and Luke Dumke set out to create a project centered on artistic collaboration, community building, and shared experiences within the Seattle music scene. Their efforts culminated in the release of their debut album, Swimming Lessons, in August 2023, a collection of ten songs blending shimmering synths, electric guitars, and live drums with layered vocal arrangements and atmospheric soundscapes to create a sonic landscape that’s both cinematic and grounded.
Since its formation, Midnight High has evolved into a full six-piece band, with the songs taking on a new life during live performances. The expanded lineup—featuring lead vocalist Nik Singleton, drummer Luke Dumke, vocalists and synth players Linzy Collins and Kat Murray, lead guitarist Skyler Mehal, and bassist Tim Van Buren—delivers riveting performances, packed with energy and emotion. Their live shows are constantly evolving, highlighted by the addition of a custom-built lighting rig that creates an immersive sensory experience. This setup enhances their rich, layered sound and adds a striking visual dimension to their high-energy performances.
In just over a year of performing live, Midnight High has built a reputation for delivering captivating live shows at iconic Seattle venues like Tractor Tavern, The Sunset Tavern, and BYC as well as making festival appearances at Timber! Music Festival, Freakout! Festival, Freakout! Weekender, and Bite of Seattle. Fan response has been overwhelmingly positive, with a growing, loyal fanbase drawn to their fun, inclusive performances.
As they continue to ride the momentum of Swimming Lessons, Midnight High is currently working on their next album, aiming to push their sound even further while keeping that same electrifying energy their fans have come to expect.
